Essential oils contain mixtures of powerful compounds and in many cases they should not be applied directly to the skin, but rather diluted in a carrier oil such as Golden Organic Jojoba.  Always test essential oils blends on a small area of the body for any reaction to sensitive skin prior to use over a wider area.

How to Use our Pure Essential Oils 

Essential oils can be used in a variety of ways. 

• Adding a few drops to an oil diffuser or burner

• Inhalation 

• Adding a few drops to the bath or foot soak

• Adding a few drops to a suitable carrier oil and applying to the body.  Always avoiding the genital and sinus areas.  We recommend applying a small amount first to test for any sensitivity 

• We do not encourage the ingestion of Essential Oils 

Essential Oil Safety - Shelf Life 

Regardless of the brand, all Essential Oils have a Shelf Life. When stored and used properly some Essential Oils such as Myrrh , Sandalwood and Vetiver can maintain their potency for up to six years or in the case of Patchouli if stored correctly up to 10 years!

On the other end of the scale Essential Oils such as Lemon , Mandarin or Orange only retain their potency for between 12-18 months if stored correctly. The shelf life of any essential oil is determined by the make up of the compounds found within it. Each is different though many have similar shelf life periods.

Recomended Shelf Life of our Essential Oils if stored correctly.

Our Essential Oils are provided in dark amber bottles with a sealable cap that acts as a dripulator. Keep your oils in the bottle supplied to ensure you maximise the life of the essential oil.

How to store your oils correctly.

To get the best combination of shelf life and potency for your oils , basically if you want them to lsat longer, keep them closed tightly when not in use, keep them away from light, and store them in a cool place. If you can make some space in your refrigerator , this is without doubt the best place to store your oils and is how we maintain the freshness of our oils for sale to you. We have a Dedication Fridge in which we store our oils but if you are putting essential oils into a fridge with food, some of that food may start to taste of essential oil, yep even from sealed bottles. To avoid this keep your essential oils in a container. Either a wooden box or plastic box or even a  zip-lock bag. If you have a large collection of oils do consider getting a separate fridge , its worth it and your oils will love you for it.
